How do I get through the two-week wait, and when should I test?

I had my embryo transfer yesterday and I'm already going crazy. Is it okay to test early at home?

The wait is one of the hardest parts, and wanting answers is completely natural. Clinics usually schedule a blood beta-hCG test about 9–14 days after transfer, depending on the embryo stage. Testing at home much earlier can mislead: if you had an hCG 'trigger' injection it can linger and cause a false positive, and a too-early negative can be false too. Normal life is fine — there's no evidence that bed rest improves outcomes. Keep taking progesterone and other medicines exactly as prescribed. Mild cramps, spotting or no symptoms at all don't predict the result either way. Plan small, kind distractions, and call your clinic for heavy bleeding, fever or severe pain.
