Which fertility supplements actually have evidence — CoQ10, DHEA, vitamin D?

I keep seeing ads for expensive 'fertility boosters'. What is worth taking?

The one supplement with a strong evidence base is folic acid before and during early pregnancy. Vitamin D is worth checking if you may be deficient (it's common in India) and correcting under medical advice. For antioxidants like CoQ10, evidence for improving live-birth rates is limited and mixed. DHEA has been tried in poor responders to IVF, but results are inconsistent and it can cause side effects — use only under a specialist's supervision. Be sceptical of products that promise to 'boost fertility' quickly, and don't combine many supplements without medical guidance. Tell your doctor everything you take.
