My scan report says AFC 6. What does antral follicle count mean?
I got my baseline scan done on day 2 and the report says AFC right ovary 2, left ovary 4. Nobody explained it properly. Is 6 low?

The antral follicle count (AFC) is the number of small follicles, usually about 2 to 10 mm, seen on both ovaries on an early-cycle ultrasound. These are the follicles available to respond in that cycle, so the count gives a rough picture of ovarian reserve, meaning the quantity of eggs remaining. It does not tell you about egg quality. Ranges vary between clinics, but very broadly, a total count under about 5 to 7 is often described as lower reserve, roughly 8 to 15 or so as typical, and very high counts can be seen with PCOS. The number naturally falls with age, and it can vary a little from cycle to cycle and between scanning doctors. AFC is usually read together with AMH and your age. A lower count mainly helps predict how many eggs might be collected if you need IVF, and it may influence how urgently the doctor suggests moving ahead. It does not mean you can't conceive naturally; many women with lower counts do ovulate regularly. Ask your doctor how your AFC fits with your AMH and age, and whether it changes the timeline or the treatment they would recommend for you.

We want to be prepared before the first consultation. What tests are standard, and is there anything to do before them?
My report says AMH 0.6 and I'm 32. I'm panicking.
My doctor has advised an HSG to check my tubes and I'm nervous about the pain.
The doctor has asked me to come for scans on day 9, 11 and 13 and maybe more. I don't understand what they are checking each time.
