IVF has been used for over 40 years and millions of children have been born through it. Most are healthy. Large studies show a slightly higher risk of some pregnancy complications (like preterm birth and low birth weight), mostly linked to twin or multiple pregnancies and to the underlying infertility itself. That's why modern practice favours transferring a single embryo whenever possible. For the mother, the main treatment risk is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, which is uncommon and monitored for. Discuss your individual risks with your doctor; and remember that 'natural' isn't automatically safer — untreated infertility has its own costs. Family pressure is hard; you're allowed to decide privately.

Our doctor mentioned IUI first, but a friend said IVF is the 'real' solution. How is the choice made?
We've done two IUIs so far with no luck. The doctor says we can do one or two more, but I'm 34 and feel like we're losing time. What is usually advised?
Our doctor suggests freezing all embryos and transferring later. Is that a good idea or just more cost?
