A fresh cycle and a two-trip plan look like this:

An illustrative freeze-all plan from Doha
This example is illustrative and does not describe a real patient. It shows how a married couple living in Doha, with family in Kochi, might organise a freeze-all cycle.
- Weeks −8 to −4: video consultations with two Kochi clinics and one in Bengaluru; records shared; written estimates compared. They choose a clinic in Kochi, close to the wife's parents.
- Weeks −4 to −1: hormone tests, infection screening and a semen analysis done in Doha; leave approved with a few days of flexibility; flights booked on changeable fares.
- Week 1: the wife arrives on day 2 of her period, has a baseline scan and starts injections. She stays with her parents and attends scans every two to three days.
- Week 2: the trigger injection is given on day 11; her husband arrives the next day. Retrieval takes place about 36 hours after the trigger, and he provides a sample the same morning.
- Week 3: both return to Doha two days after retrieval. The clinic confirms by message how many embryos were frozen and sends a written report.
- Around two months later: after a medicated FET preparation, with a lining scan in Doha, the wife flies back for about a week for the transfer. The pregnancy test is done in Doha about two weeks later.
Visas
Your visa depends on your passport, not your Qatar residency. Indian passport and OCI card holders need no visa. Qatari nationals and most other nationalities should check eligibility for India's online e-Medical visa, using an invitation letter from the clinic. It has been issued for up to 60 days with triple entry, and a companion — usually a spouse or family member — can apply for the e-Medical Attendant visa (generally up to two). Some nationalities must apply via an embassy or visa centre instead.
What to do in Doha before you fly
- Book a video consultation. India is two and a half hours ahead of Qatar, so a 7 pm slot in India is 4:30 pm in Doha — often workable around office hours. See your first video consultation.
- Send your records. Previous IVF summaries, hormone results, scan reports, semen analysis and any surgery notes. Ask which recent tests can be done in Qatar to save time in India.
- Brief a local gynaecologist. Ask whether they will do monitoring scans if the clinic starts medication before you travel, and whether they will take over early pregnancy care after a positive test.
- Get a written estimate in rupees. Itemised: cycle, medication, ICSI, freezing, storage, and what happens to costs if the plan changes.

Some couples are comfortable discussing donor eggs or sperm; for others it is not an option on religious or personal grounds. Both are legitimate. - Booking non-changeable flights too early. Your start date depends on your period and your retrieval date on your response. Book flexible fares, or book the return only once the trigger date is set.
