Planning your trip
Visa
Indian passport holders and OCI cardholders don't need a visa. Other nationalities can usually apply online for India's e-Medical visa using the clinic's invitation letter — check your eligibility on the official Indian e-Visa website.

Book a video consultation, share your recent reports (hormone tests, scans, semen analysis), and ask the clinic which baseline tests can be done in the UAE so your stay in India is shorter.

How much cheaper is IVF in India than in the UAE?+
A standard IVF cycle in India is commonly ₹1.5–2.5 lakh, against a commonly quoted AED 18,000–35,000 in the UAE. Medication and extras add to both, so ask each clinic for an itemised quote and compare the full plan, not the headline.
How long do I need to stay in India?+
About 2–3 weeks for a fresh cycle (stimulation, egg retrieval, embryo transfer). If embryos are frozen, the transfer can be a separate trip of about a week. The pregnancy test can usually be done back in the UAE.
Who can have IVF in India?+
Under the ART (Regulation) Act, 2021, IVF and other assisted reproduction are open to married couples (the woman aged 21–50, the man 21–55) and to single women, including foreign nationals. Clinics must be registered under the Act — look for the ART registration number on a clinic's profile.
Can I have surrogacy in India?+
Not as a foreign national. India's Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021 bans commercial surrogacy and limits altruistic surrogacy to eligible Indian couples and certain Indian women. The position for OCI cardholders has been contested in court, so if that applies to you, get current legal advice before planning anything.
Can I do follow-up scans in the UAE?+
Usually, yes. Many Indian clinics coordinate the pregnancy test and early scans with a doctor where you live. Agree who will do them, and how results get back to the clinic, before you travel.
